On Apple's removal of historical reenactment games

Apple's removal of historical reenactment games because they contain images of the Confederate battle flag is ahistorical, reactionary, stupid, and introduces a double standard where none existed before. I guess I can look forward to Apple resolving this problem by removing all historical games because there was always a loser. And what about the winners that were equally immoral or racist such as Mao, Pol Pot, Stalin, Winston Churchill, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, ...

I'm not sure what a civil war game without USA and CSA flags would look like. Strange.

What bothers me the most about this is the complete lack of historical understanding most of these folks have. Specifically, they think that:
1.the civil war was about slavery (hint: it wasn't, Lincoln was a horrible racist who made a great PR move designed to incite unrest in the south). Further, other countries abolished slavery without a war. This was about political authority and control of the nation.
2. Lincoln was a Democrat (because Democrats freed the slaves, doncha know).
3. That the post-civil war authorities which led to the Jim Crow south were all Republicans (because, again Democrats are all pro-equality and civil rights).

All of this is about PR and spin.
